Bouquet

I decided to try posting this picture on Ebay. So far it has generated little interest. I could take this personally and give up machine embroidery altogether, or accept that I was born without a marketing gene and give all my stuff away as I do with my dolls!
This post is likely to be a short one as I lead such a boring life that there's nothing much to report. I am hoping to speak to a friend from donkey's years ago this afterneoon. It's so long since we spoke that the call is likely to last for hours. I may be a useless blog poster but I'm brilliant at talking!
I'm actually delighted that the government is going to re-vamp the IT curriculum. Teachers have been forced to treat kids like mini office workers for years. So now we can teach ANIMATION! providing we can learn how to do it first. I did teach it in the primary school years ago using MS Gif Animator but this program from MIT (Scratch) promises to be much better so I'm going to use it and then write a basic instruction book to go with it. Anyone who's interested can contact me and request a copy. (Give me a couple of weeks yet!)

Reluctant blogger

Well, after much persuasion by friends and family I have taken the plunge and started a blog, although I'm not sure how long it will last. I can't imagine who would be interested enough to read the drivel I might write every day. Still there might be some nice pictures to look at, mine (I hope they're nice) and other people's if they're mad enough to let me show them. I'll begin with this one which is a favourite for several reasons:
It was a kit bought as a present by my family in 1981;
I like the picture and the colours (not my own design);
although meant to be hand embroidered it worked well on the sewing machine;
it's going to be for my new grandchild
It's called 'Tree of Life' and measures 15inches x 21 inches and now has a light wood frame. I do like it and wouldn't mind doing another similar one. I must learn to draw better.
